AUSTRALIAN Pump Industries has developed a safety awareness course to reduce the risk of injury in high-pressure cleaning operations.
According to the company, the course provides detailed knowledge of hazards associated with water blasting machines up to 500bar.
It outlines principles of design as well as routine maintenance and inspection of equipment to provide miners with a better understanding of pump systems.
The course highlights the function and application of the pump, unloader valve and safety valve equipment to reduce operator error and maintenance costs.
Students are assessed through a series of multiple choice questions following the training program, and successful participants are officially certified upon completion.
