A HEALTH Department survey has shown that Western Australian’s are more concerned about passive smoking, sun exposure and a lack of water than uranium mining.

More than 1700 people over the age of 18 were surveyed about which potential health hazards they were most concerned about.

Passive smoking, sun exposure and a lack of water topped the list with mobile phone towers and re-use of treated wastewater as drinking water or on market gardens at the bottom.

The survey also showed that those under 30 were less concerned than older people by uranium mining.
