RESERVE Training and Safety has announced that it has secured a licence for the Mining Industry Skills Centre's Project Canary.

The Bowen Basin-based group will now be able to improve safety in the resources sector with the help of the new virtual-world training program.

The games-based simulation tool places participants in a virtual world where they are confronted with current workplace scenarios from their industry.

This virtual world enables participants to develop the skills to identify hazards and manage risks, while encouraging behavioural change around safe working practices.
