CAPABILITY Resources has developed a three week training and development program for new employees entering the mining industry.

According to the company, the program provides skills and knowledge required for entry level positions in the mining and associated service industries.

The course addresses safety standards and expectations, and teaches trainees to perform individually and as part of a team in high-risk situations.

The nationally-recognised program focuses on workplace safety and communication, risk assessment, cutting and welding, and also touches on environmental work practices.

The courses begin in January 2009 and run back-to-back until December. Enrolment forms are available at http://www.capres.com.au/CAPRES/resources/CourseEnrolmentFormV8.pdf.
