PILBARA TAFE has introduced a new safety course which could help improve safety in the mining industry.

The Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety is aimed at busy working professionals and effectively condenses training into a six month period.

Scott Stalley, an Occupational, Health and Safety expert with a background in the mining industry, delivers the course with a Pilbara focus.

Stalley says that he draws on many experiences from the Pilbara to illustrate the content and provide workplace examples.

Due to its popularity, the Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (delivered via further workshops) will be back in early 2010.
