THE Queensland government is improving its employment testing systems to ensure only qualified staff maintain the state’s health and safety standards.

Mines and Energy (DME) Minister, Geoff Wilson, says the state’s Board of Examiners is being revamped to make sure only the most qualified and competent staff manage safety and health issues within Queensland mines.

According to the DME, a number of changes have been made to the way the board operates to deliver more flexible processes for safety management positions.

Changes are being also being made to examinations and document tracking systems to process applications faster and deliver safety to Queensland mines more efficiently.
