ROCKHAMPTON Regional Council will showcase what is said to be “the most liveable community in the world” during the 2009 Queensland Resources Expo (QREX) trade exhibition at the Rockhampton Showgrounds from 21 and 23 July 2009.
As the ninth largest council in Queensland, serving more than 103,000 people in 79 unique communities, Rockhampton Regional Council has been a driving force behind the Queensland Resources Expo.
According to the Council, the region boasts well-organised infrastructure, an experienced workforce, a strong manufacturing base, accessibility, and a great lifestyle, and provides the right environment for businesses intent on a sustainable future.
Mayor of Rockhampton Regional Council, Brad Carter says Rockhampton Regional Council is about so much more than ‘roads, rates and rubbish’ and we are keen to help showcase the potential of the Central Queensland resources industry through QREX 2009, an event of global significance in one of the most liveable regions in the world.
Carter says that the council is excited about QREX’s growth into a regional event involving both the Rockhampton region, Gladstone and the southern Bowen Basin. He says that QREX showcases the region’s resources sector on the world stage and provides a timely focus on the resource-rich potential, trade opportunities and great services of the area.
