ENERPAC’s rigid all-steel torque wrench is being used at the Mt Thorley Wakworth Mine in NSW to enhance safety and boost efficiency.

According to Enerpac, the product minimises weak spots resulting from unevenly torqued fasteners in mining equipment and engines. The wrench, which is capable of 4330Nm torque, is designed to ensure correct power, precision and repeatability when loosening and tightening nuts.

The wrench currently in use at Mt Thorley is complemented by a ZU4 208TE-Q 1.25kW electric pump that is designed for repetitive bolting applications. According to the manufacturer, the high-efficiency two speed pumps feature higher oil flow and bypass pressure (85 bar) for cooler running that requires 18% less current draw than comparable pumps.

The pumps also feature a low-voltage pendant with sealed switches for remote operation and enhanced operator safety.
