Mining incident at QLD mine kills young worker

MINES and Energy inspectors and Workplace Health and Safety inspectors are investigating the death of a 24-year-old man at a mine site in Queensland.

Police say the incident occurred at around 10:30am on 14 August 2009.

The man is believed to have been crushed by pipes falling from a truck.

Arrangements were made for him to be airlifted from Injune Hospital to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane; however he died while being transferred to Injune.
