PERILYA Mining says it had nothing to do with the spillage of possible contaminants into a creek near its Mount Oxide Mine.
The miner says while it currently holds an exploration license for the site it was not part of the historical mining which is now believed to be the cause.
The spillage from Mount Oxide Mine is in the Twibles Creek area, which flows into the Oxide Creek and then the Leichhardt River.
Perilya Mining claims it has only put down a drill pad area and a couple of drill holes and followed EPA’s guidelines in doing so. It hasn’t done anything else.
The miner says eventually it would like to mine copper, cobalt and possibly silver resources at Mount Oxide.
