Fatal accident on coal mine

A fatal accident has suspended operations at the Curragh coal mine.
A four wheel drive rolled over on a haul road at the mine in central Queensland at approximately 11am eastern time yesterday.
The driver suffered multiple fractures, head injuries and internal bleeding from the initial impact.
He was taken to the nearby Blackwater Hospital, but succumbed to a cardiac arrest, with staff unable to revive him.
The three passengers in the vehicle suffered only minor injuries and were treated on scene.
All the men within the car are contract miners from Salmon's Earthmoving.
The mine’s general manager Rod Bridges has said that counselling will be offered to staff, and the mine will stop for 24 hours as a mark of respect.
Inspectors from the Queensland Department of Mines and Energy and the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union will begin investigations.
