Erin Brockovich on why she travelled to Yarloop

ERIN Brockovich claims that Yarloop residents pleaded with her to help them take on Alcoa in a legal battle that could go on for years.

The community claims that the emissions from a neighbouring alumina refinery have made them sick.

Since the Hollywood movie that brought her fame, Brockovich has been swamped with correspondence from communities all over the world who claim industrial pollution is making them sick.

But Brockovich says that she identified with Yarloop residents and claims the case reminds her of her own lawsuit.

The US health crusader says that the large companies should do what is right by human health and safety first. They should practice morality over money, not money over morality.
