COLLISION avoidance technology is on the agenda for discussion at the Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference being held in Townsville.

The mining industry is considering the installation of the technology to reduce mine fatalities.

Queensland mine safety and health commissioner Stewart Bell says most mining companies will adopt new safety technology if it is available.

Bell says industry government and unions must strive harder toward the shared goal of zero harm.
