FIREFIGHTERS have pulled a worker from a bulldozer after it fell nearly 20m from a coal mine embankment in Queensland on 02 November 2008.

According to the Department of Mines and Energy (DME), firefighters rescued the driver from the bulldozer cab after the vehicle landed on its roof the Oakey mine on the Darling Downs.

The bulldozer landed in a position that required an excavator and vertical rescue equipment to stabilise the vehicle and retrieve the driver.

The driver was kept in contact with rescuers via radio throughout the 90-minute ordeal and was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.
