BHP IS restarting operations at its Yandi iron mine in Western Australia after work was suspended following the death of a worker.

The company is gradually restarting production while safety briefings are completed with individual employees.

Operations were suspended for five days after a second miner was killed at the site in two weeks.

The company suspended all its iron-ore operations in the state after the 4 September incident.

Government inspectors are still investigating the incident, which could take up to four months.
