WorkCover NSW to release online tool to lower workplace injury rates

WORKCOVER NSW has produced Hazard a Guess, an eLearning tool said to lower injury rates in young workers.

According to WORKCOVER NSW, Hazard a Guess is specifically designed for employers, educators, students and young workers, while helping people to meet their OHS training obligations.

Hazard a Guess uses a 'game show' style environment where the user is presented with a range of OHS and injury management topics and questions.

As the user selects a topic they are presented with a scenario in which they must make a series of decisions about which actions to take. Each scenario is worth a certain amount of money. Actions that result in dangerous or reckless behaviour result in the loss of money and the characters being injured or killed.

WORKCOVER NSW says Hazard a Guess will officially launch on 1 March 2010.

  • What a great idea! Can't wait to have a look at this tool. Educating new workers in Hazard Identification is critical - good hazard ID by the people on the job can overcome any other number of failings in procedures or equipment.
