AUSTRADE'S senior trade commissioner for Latin America, Crispin Conroy, says Columbia and Brazil are growing markets for Australian miners and mining service providers.

Conroy says Latin American miners would benefit from Australia's technical expertise with commodities.

He claims they are looking to Australia for environmental practices, mine safety, experience with working with indigenous communities and mine closure.Australian companies turned out in greater force at three mining conferences in Latin America this month.

Conroy says this is amid a growing understanding of the abundant opportunities there for miners and exporters of mining equipment, services and technology.
