Bowen Basin mine audit sees twenty trucks taken off the road

THE QUEENSLAND Mines Inspectorate has ordered twenty trucks off the road after a safety audit.

The audit was carried out across 46 coal mines in the Bowen Basin.The inspectors found low vehicle maintenance standards, especially in regards to brakes.

The mine safety and health commissioner, Stewart Bell, says two recent fatalities can be linked to substandard brakes.
